WRITER'S STATEMENT by Patrick Cahoon:
In HUNTR we explore the fear of the catfish, the obsession with appearance, the horror of location-based services, and the toxicity that has become online dating within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community through the lens of a slasher flick. As a gay person who has used dating/hook-up apps, there’s always a layer of thrill and fear to a hook-up. Being a huge fan of the slasher genre I wanted to take this fear and love for queer content and mesh the two together, as I’ve wanted to see a real queer slasher film, with real stakes, for quite some time.
Through HUNTR, this goal has been accomplished in a way that everyone can enjoy watching.
